I want to reflect upon my sessions with Rumjhum Bhattacharya Mam.

Communication and reflective listening :-
The decision to talk to something whom you don't know is difficult and full of Pessimism and makes you feel anxious, apprehensive and vulnerable. You are going to execute a decision which you have been thinking over in your mind for a long time and finally if your confidant is not able to match your frequency it will become a futile exercise.
Though with a negative mindset when I first spoke to Mam I was thankful as I could feel a magnetic calm on her face which makes you feel safe and the way she listens to you, very attentive and without showing any emotion makes it easy to spill out whatever is on your mind.

Bridge of Trust :-
After listening patiently to what I had to offer the first thing she did was, divert my attention from the problem and started to explain the me some basic building block concepts. She told me about Human instincts, needs and Wants and also how we humans are different and also similar to animals at the same time. Further she explained what is Fight and what is flight and what is freeze and how we as humans display the same as per the circumstance and situation we are surrounded within. She ensured to make me feel that what I was going through was natural and I should trust myself and be confident that together we can get over it. This made me comfortable and I could feel that I have someone who has expert skillsets and is trustworthy to help me deal with my issue.

Coaching and Skills rather than Sermon :-
She started to teach me how action and Behaviour are linked to Thoughts and Emotions. Why and when we should be able to prioritise and not let our emotions and thoughts govern our Behaviour. She encouraged me to put the learnings to practical use and also discussed few examples from my daily life. Luckily I soon got a chance to display the learning in actual world and was able to win over a very complicated situation in which I found myself. I feel confident and strong and I can safely bet that she is the Captain of my life who can coach me and will help me navigate out of the doldrums.

Assigns homework and food for thought :-
Her action plan in not to lecture but it is to challenge you and give enough food for thought post the session. This helped in improvement on my skillset and also ensured I utilised my time judicially to complete the assigned tasks. I could see I was drifting from my Problem and suddenly the problem had already started to shrink and become a petty one.

Challenged my belief:-
She very smartly challenged my beliefs without touching my Values and showed me the mirror. I was clearly able to figure out what was going on my mind and what was the reason for my rumination and obsessive ways. She was able to pinpoint the exact root cause and the way she presented the evidences with clarity, I had no option but to rewire my belief system. This change made me a very refined self and I was ready to set sail to new shores along with a newly acquired skillset.

Fly solo :-
She explained to me when it was time to fly solo and made me confident to understand that I have the grit, Courage and skills to become a un-stoppable person and can achieve the un thinkable.

Thank you mam for what you have done to me and I will always stive to be the best of my self.
