WHAT IS CUBING?
Cubing is basically a tool used to check cognitive skills of an individual. A cube has six sides that gives an individual a chance to think about six different ways by just looking at one single thing in order to solve it. When we aim to score highest grades, we need to focus on each subject carefully because paying attention to only one or two subjects can never be enough to be a topper. Likewise, solving a cube requires your full undivided attention to its each side so that you may start brainstorming. This cubing is actually a good activity also known as Rubik’s cube to enhance cognitive skills.
WHO INVENTED RUBIK’S CUBE?
He was a professor Erno Rubik, from Hungary, who invented Rubik’s cube in 1974 as a teaching aid while teaching his students. That was the time when this cube became popular among people, especially young children. According to a report, it was estimated that over 350 million Rubik’s cubes were sold across the world.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A RUBIK’S CUBE?
Rubik’s cube is an interesting task for children and even adults which always gets started out of curiosity and ends up being their favorite hobby. Solving Rubik’s cube takes a lot of time and patience but it also benefits in various ways. Let’s know the benefits of solving Rubik’s cube:
RUBIK’S CUBE FOR KIDS
Rubik’s cube is an easy game to understand but on the other hand it has enough complexity that it requires a lot of attention and dexterity in the hands. Memory skills are also required while solving cube so that a child can remember each and every movement of the pieces. The complexity of cube activity forces a child to give themselves all just to solve this.
Rubik’s Cube is not just a fun activity but it also helps to enhance a kid’s brain power. It actually requires a lot of patience as well as time but it is worth the effort.
It is also kept in mind that with kids it is best to go from simple to complex so that an easy cube should be given which is 3*3. Initially a simple cube (3*3) is given to a child as a challenge and the level of the cube’s complexity is increased until he masters the previous one. A child may need a little assistance but once they learn on their own, they are more likely to solve next levels by themselves.
For kids it is better to start with a 3*3 cube so that they can enjoy their achievement in time without getting bored or frustrated. The level of difficulty can be increased later.
A Rubik’s cube is actually an interesting fun activity that puts the kids in a place where their brainstorming starts.
